Allison Transmission and SAIC Hongyan Automotive Co. Ltd, a Chinese premium brand in the production, service and support of heavy duty trucks, has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU).

The said document stipulates that the two companies will integrate the Allison eGen Power 130D e-Axle axle into SAIC IVECO Hongyan regional and long haul trucks.

Partners will carry out joint tests of products before making a decision on their supply.

The current cooperation agreement is based on the experience of successful relations between the two companies.

Currently, most of the SAIC Hongyan sold are equipped with an Allison automatic transmission.

SAIC Hongyan will be the first Chinese OEM to integrate the eGen Power 130D electric axle into its trucks.

This axle has been specially designed for vehicles requiring an axle with a nominal weight of 13 tons.

This series of fully integrated electric axles replaces the traditional transmission and incorporates two high-speed electric motors and a multi-speed gearbox, providing SAIC Hongyan and the brand's customers with exceptional performance and optimum efficiency.

With a constant power of 424 kW (569 hp) and a peak power output of 648 kW (869 hp).

The eGen Power 130D is one of the most powerful power solutions in its class and draws on Allison's proven hardware and software expertise throughout its development, from design, live validation, and production start-up.
